Wilma A. Kennedy, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on September 19, 1931, in Lapel, Indiana, and in later years she made her home in Greenfield, Indiana, but lived in Wilkinson most of her life. Wilma was a devoted housewife who poured her heart into her family, always making sure everyone felt loved and cared for.

Wilma was graduate from Wilkinson High School. She worked for Indiana Farm Bureau for 30 years as Secretary. She was a very involved woman at Nameless Creek Christian Church as she was the Treasurer, an Elder, and was an organist for the church, as well as being in the Literary Club. Wilma was even a member of the Eden Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette (Dee) Wickard; siblings, Pauline Jones, Kenneth (Carolyn) Rushton, Kathleen Willis and brother-in-law Darl Collins. Wilma was a proud grandmother to Chris (Julia) Wickard, Kendra (Steve) Gilbreath, and David (Leslie) Wickard and she cherished her great-grandchildren: Paige (Jimmie) Connelly, expecting a great great grandchild very soon, Ryan, Carter, Jordyn, Jacob Wickard, and Kolton Gilbreath (fiance, Alexis).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Kennedy; parents, Ovie and Dorothy Helen (Scott) Rushton; and sister, Mary Alice Collins.

Her family will remember her as a nurturing and spirited woman who always had a smile and a warm hug for everyone.

Funeral services will be held in her honor, Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Bozell Funeral Home and Crematory - Condo Chapel, 130 S. Main St., Wilkinson, IN, 46186 with pastor Tina Kerfoot officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.

Visitation will be Monday, May 18, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery.

Rest in peace, Wilma. You will be missed but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made out to Nameless Creek Christian Church, 3856 N 800 E, Greenfield, IN 46140, Purdue University Extension-Hancock County 4-H, 972 E. Park Ave., Greenfield, IN, 46140.
