Vivian Smith

Vivian Smith, 91, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson after a recent illness. She was born on September 18, 1934, in Anderson, to the late Herbert Leroy Paschal and Helen Maude (Henderson) Paschal.

Vivian was a proud graduate of the Anderson High School Class of 1952. She was married to the late Roy "Denny" Smith, Jr. for 65 years. Throughout her life, Vivian dedicated herself to being a loving homemaker. She was actively involved in their children's activities during their school years, including Highland High School Band Boosters.

She and Denny enjoyed spending time with family and many dear friends, often traveling out of state to visit them. She also found joy in volunteering at St. John's Hospital Gift Shop (Victoria Guild) for several years.

Placing her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, she was a member of Bethany Christian Church and later attended First Baptist Church in Anderson.

She is survived by her children, Dawn (Mick) Campbell and Greg Smith; sister, Corrine Rector; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Noretta and George Clarkson; grandchildren, Modlene Campbell, Aaron and Daniel Smith; step-grandchildren, Erin and Kyle Campbell. Vivian is also survived by several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy "Denny" Smith, Jr.; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Harry Rousey; brother-in-law, George Rector.

The family would like to extend special thanks for Vivian's care to her niece, Kathy Rousey, and to Primrose Assisted Living, Community Hospital, Middletown Nursing Home & Rehabilitation, and Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.

Visitation for family and friends will take place from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.

A funeral service will follow visitation starting at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Mike Rousey, nephew, officiating. Burial will conclude services at East Maplewood Cemetery.
