Virginia Delores Flatt, age 91, of Anderson passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Sugar Fork Crossing.
She was born in Selma, IN on June 11, 1934, the daughter of Edmund and Dona Brammer. She was married May 25, 1957, to Quitman "Joe" Flatt who passed away March 14, 2006.
She graduated from Eaton High School and Ball State University where she received a masters degree in education. While attending Ball State, she joined the Sigma Kappa Sorority and was a lifetime member. She taught home economics at Markleville High School and Pendleton Heights High School for 20 years, where she lead 4-H and FHA. She was in the Red Hats of Madison County for a number of years.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda (husband, Mike) SerVaas of Indianapolis and Nancy (husband, Brian) Flatt-Moore of Anderson; two granddaughters, Nicole SerVaas and Kimberly (husband, Mike) Corbett; one grandson, Nathaniel Moore; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; and four brothers and three sisters in her Rigby family.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The funeral ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Virginia's name may be gifted to The Well (PO Box 1216, Anderson IN 46015-121 (Memo line: “The Well” if giving to the women’s shelter fund)) or the Animal Protection League (613 Dewey Street, Anderson, IN 46016).
