Truman Phillip Curtis

December 21, 1933 — November 3, 2026

Anderson, Indiana

Truman Phillip Curtis, age 92, of Anderson, passed away at his home on November 3, 2026.

He was born on December 21, 1933, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, to the late Denton Curtis and Robbie (Biggerstaff) Walker.

Truman proudly served his country in the United States Army and later built a career as a Design Consultant for UltraPlay Playground Equipment. He was also a proud member of the Moose Lodge.

Truman enjoyed many things throughout his life, including gardening, woodworking, watching westerns, dancing, cooking, and bowling. He was an avid bowler who enjoyed participating in bowling leagues, and he also had a love for video games.

But above all else, Truman will be remembered for his generous and giving heart. He was the kind of person who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, especially to those in need. He gave freely of himself, never expecting anything in return. One of his greatest legacies was the love and dedication he showed his family, helping raise three generations. His influence, guidance, and generosity touched the lives of so many, leaving a lasting mark that will carry on through the generations.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Lisa Miller, Linda Kidwell, Laura Kidwell, and Joyce Groover; he was lovingly known as Papaw to his many grandchildren, but he shared an especially close bond with two of his grandchildren, Damon (Lori) Fulp and Heather (fiancé, Chad Reppert) Simmons, who looked to him as a father figure; blessed with many great-grandchildren, he played a vital role in the lives of Austin Hollenback, Allison Fulp, Blake Simmons, and Remi Fulp, helping to raise and nurture them; and his beloved great-great-grandchildren, Roman and Violet.

He was preceded in death by his father, Denton; mother and step-father, Robbie and Clarence Walker; and sister, Nina Curtis.

A graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Maplewood Cemetery, 200 College Dr Anderson, IN 46012 with military rites being conducted. Pastor Gary Cable will be officiating. Truman's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, family, and love that will never be forgotten. Though he will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught and the lives he helped shape will continue to live on.
