Steven D. Powell

Steven D. Powell, 77 of Bradenton Florida, formerly of Anderson, passed away surrounded by his family on June 23, 2025, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.

Steve served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Delco Remy, a division of General Motors, after several years.

Steve enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family and close friends. While living in Indiana, Steve was very involved in Chesterfield Little League and enjoyed watching his children play sports. He was an avid sports fan.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Cosette “Cozy” (Smith) Powell of Bradenton; children, Shawn (Dawn) Powell of Bradenton, Tiffany Barbee of Bradenton; grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Shae-Lynn, Lidia, Ashton; several brother and sister-in laws, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Powell; and his sister LeeAnne Smith.

Steve’s wishes were to be cremated, and a private family service will be held at a later date.

Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St. have been entrusted in local arrangements.
