Ms. Sophia Mae Raines

Sophia Mae Raines, 95, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at her residence in Knightstown. She was born August 6, 1923, in Riverside, Kentucky to the late Vachel & Levia (Martin) Neighbors. Sophia loved to sew and worked as a seamstress at JC Penney. She was a member of Community Baptist Church in Knightstown, the Nameless Creek Literary Club, and Merry Makers Senior Citizens. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Boswell; stepdaughter, Joanne Jacobson; grandchildren, Mandy Sitler, Jeff Vickers, & Steve Vickers; siblings, Earline Brumit, Bernice Hartsock, & Vester Neighbors; great grandchildren, Carrine Collier, Cory Sitler, John Dugan, Tiffany Raglin, Jordan & Derek Vickers, Kayla, Kristen, Tinley, & Tula Vickers; great-great grandchildren, Carson, Carlee, Colton, Cooper, Cora, Brayden, Rylee, & Aubrey; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Peay & Vincent Raines; and brothers, Lester & Laten Neighbors. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 10, at Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Wilkinson. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 Friday, November 9, at the funeral home.
