Shirley Ligman

Shirley Ligman, 71, of Lapel, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born on February 17, 1952, in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to Herbert and Ruth (Wells) Hobbs.

She graduated from Lapel High School in 1970.

She retired in 2007 from Key Bank in the commercial lending department.

She was a member of Refuge Christian Church in Noblesville. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed crafting. She was a rescuer of cats.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Richard Ligman; two children, Stacy (husband, Jim) Weeks of Anderson and Todd (wife, Wendi) Johnson of Lapel; her mother, Ruth Hobbs of Lapel; one sister, Sharon (husband, Estes) Boles of Lapel; two brothers, Glen (wife, Marla) Hobbs of Anderson and Randy Hobbs of Anderson; five grandchildren, Cameron, Shelby, Kaylee, Logan and Emma; three great-grandchildren, Jude, Ziggy and Beau; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Hobbs Sr.; and two brothers, Herbert Hobbs Jr. and Billy Joe Hobbs.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Rev. Stan Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Madison County Humane Society.
