Mrs. Sedelia Bernice Thackery

Sedelia Bernice Thackery, 79, of Shirley, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020. She was born June 24, 1940, in Velarde, New Mexico. Bernice was a member of Wilkinson Church of Christ and of the Order of The Eastern Star. She nurtured and touched many lives through the daycare in her home as well as through her involvement at church. Bernice was an avid baker known for her cooking, but those around her knew her grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She is survived by her husband, Tom Thackery; children, Dean (Patricia) Thackery, Julie (Jeff) Dickmander, Keith (Daphne) Thackery, Jennifer (Tony) Halsey, & Bruce (Lela) Thackery; siblings, Gaby & Lito; 11 grandchildren, Mariah, Jessica, Jacob, Cyndi, Rebekah, Payton, Amanda, Zac, Kaylee, Alexis, & Bryce; and great grandson, Mason. She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter-in-law, Dawn Thackery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Private services were entrusted to Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Wilkinson. Burial was at Harlan Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wilkinson Church of Christ.
