Rose E. Veneskey, 92, of Anderson, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2026. Born on June 23, 1933, in Bakerton, Pennsylvania, Rose was the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Hresco) Gormish. She was married to her cherished husband, Sylvester "Sy" Veneskey, and together they built a loving family.
Rose spent her life as a dedicated homemaker, pouring her love into everything she did. She was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she willingly offered her time to help with funeral dinners and became a familiar, friendly face in the community. Cooking, sewing, and creating beautiful dresses and costumes for her children and grandchildren were some of her favorite pastimes. Family was everything to Rose, and she took immense joy in her role as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Sy, her children Thomas (Carolyn) Veneskey, Steven (Karen) Veneskey, and Susan (Danny) Rockhill, and her brother, Joe Gormish. Rose also leaves behind a wonderful legacy of grandchildren: Jenny (Willie) Ray, Sara (Caleb) Garrett, Kevin (Kandy) Veneskey, Kelley Veneskey, and Jessica (Erika) Rockhill, as well as five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, her son-in-law Danny Rockhill, and her grandson John Humes.
