Ronnie E. Spurlin of Anderson, passed away on September 29, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 10, 1948 in Livingston, Tennessee to the late Ed and Wanda (Gibson) Spurlin. He married his loving wife, Lotheda Schoettmer, and the two spent 36 years together. After graduating from Anderson High School in 1967, he began working at Guide Lamp where he started in headlight assembly and then moved to general labor and retired after 30 years of service.
You could always catch Ronnie at 29th Street Cafe where he was known to enjoy a cup of coffee no matter what time of day. He also enjoyed taking his grandchildren to Fraziers and Waffle House. A little bit of a prankster, he enjoyed playing pranks and telling jokes. Ronnie also loved classic cars.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Lotheda; his son, Travis (Michelle) Spurlin; his grandchildren, Paige (Nick Peoples) Spurlin, Morgan Peoples, Gage Spurlin, Elliona Spurlin, and Mckenzie Arnold; his great-grandchildren, Nova, Aubrey, Jerzi, Nevaeh, Jonah, Jessa, and Roman; his daughters, Tonya Charlton and Krystal (Ashley Perry) Johnston; his son, Lawrence (Gina) W. Schoettmer; his grandchildren, Lil' Lotheda Schoettmer, Kurstyn Johnston, and Skylor Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Spurlin.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory- Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Maplewood Cemetery following the service.
