Ronald James Clute

October 21, 1938 — July 12, 2025

Anderson

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ronald James Clute, who left us on July 12, 2025, at the age of 86. Ron was born on October 21, 1938, in Anderson, Indiana, to Richard C. and Helen Katherine (Walker) Clute.

Ron graduated from Anderson High School in 1956 and began his career right off the bat at Nicholson File. He later spent an incredible 41 years as a carrier for the Anderson Herald Bulletin, where his friendly smile and distinctive voice brightened the days of many.A true Anderson local and 1956 graduate of Anderson High School, Ron loved to fish and hunt, and he was often found enjoying a game of euchre or bowling with friends. He enjoyed his time golfing, solving crossword puzzles and learning about History. He cherished spending time with family and was known throughout the neighborhood as the "neighborhood dad" who never knew a stranger. Whether at kids' sporting events or just sharing a good joke, Ron's larger-than-life personality made him a beloved figure to all who knew him.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Hollis) Clute, and their three children: Bruce (Linda F.) Clute, Ronda R. Clute, and Robin R. (Jim) Walters. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren-Ashley, Adam, Kaylee, Kristen, Kendra, and Keegan-as well as eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces & nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard J. Clute, his beloved son Ronie J. Clute, daughter Kimmy K. Clute, and granddaughter Chelsea Clute.

Funeral services will be held in Ron's memory on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 1 PM, and we will also take a moment to celebrate his remarkable 67-year marriage to Barbara. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd Street, Anderson, on Friday from 2 to 6 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM. Following the service, Ron will be laid to rest at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, planters are requested or memorial contributions can be made to support research and awareness for Parkinson's disease.Ron will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for his love, laughter, and the countless memories he created with those around him.

The family would like to give thanks to Edgewater Woods and his three special nephews, Russell, Jay and Brett Thompson for their love and care of Ron.
