March 4, 1948 — June 1, 2026

Anderson, Indiana

Ronald Eugene Bell, 78, of Anderson, Indiana, left this world on June 1, 2026, at Community Hospital in Anderson. Born on March 4, 1948, in New Castle, Indiana, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Kissick) Bell. Ron was the type of guy who would give the shirt off his back and was truly selfless.

Throughout his life, Ron wore many hats. He worked as an Industrial Technician at General Motors and proudly served in the United States Army. He had a passion for ministry, having attended Indiana Wesleyan University for that purpose, and was an active member of the Southdale Church of the Nazarene and more recently the United in Christ Church in Anderson.

In addition to his skilled trades and military service, Ron was known for his adventurous spirit as a racecar driver at the Anderson Speedway and his dedication as a police officer for the Madison County Sheriff's Department. He was also a valued member of the Frankton American Legion Post 169 and gave much of his time to missionary work in places like China and Honduras, and he was currently involved with a family in Africa.

Ron had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Barkley and Bentley. He was a wonderful family man, and his loss will be deeply felt by all.

Ron is survived by his wonderful wife, Mariam Bell, along with his children: Scott, Eric, Kasey, Kiley, and Josephine: siblings, Mary (Lonny) Dunn, Walter (Carole) Bell, Carolyn (Sue) Thrasher, and Michael (Teresa) Bell. He also leaves behind a loving legacy that includes 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation for Ron will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, located at 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013.
