Rodney "Rod" Wahn Dean

Rodney “Rod” Wahn Dean, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 13, 2025.

Born August 6, 1957, in Anderson, Indiana, Rod was the first child of Richard and Janice Dean (Bohne). He was a graduate of Anderson High School, Class of 1975. Rod proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1976 to 1984. Following his service, Rod lived in Indianapolis, Pierceton, Syracuse and Warsaw, Indiana, before moving back to Indianapolis to be with family, and where he helped to establish Kaleidoscope Indy through Roberts Park United Methodist Church. Rod loved good coffee, cooking, a thorough history lesson, fixing mechanical issues for family and friends, and a well-stocked antique auction. He will be missed by family, friends, and the many dogs he loved and cared for.

Rod is attended in death by his parents, Richard and Janice Dean, grandparents, Wahn and Mabel Dean (Myers), and Forrest and Ethel Bohne (Tuttle), and brother-in-law, John Thar.

Rod is survived by his sisters, Deanna (David) Dean-Webster, and Cindy Dean, nephews and niece, Reginald Badeaux, Rachel (Bradley) Webster, and Noah (Lindsey) Gold, and great nieces and nephews, Mollie Badeaux, Augustus Badeaux, Edward Lohmeier, Bridget Webster and Oliver Gold.

A visitation for Rodney and his mother, Janice Dean (to access Janice’s obituary, please click here: www.bozellfuneralhomes.com/obituaries/janice-dean), will be held February 5, 2026, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E 53rd Street, Anderson, IN 46013. A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:30 p.m., followed by a procession to Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
