Robert W. Mason

Robert W. Mason, 83, of Anderson, passed away on August 7, 2025. He was born on December 26, 1941, in West Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Floyd W. Mason and Wilma W. (Kersey) James.

On June 8, 1968, Robert married the love of his life, Doris Jeanne Schild, and together they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. He spent much of his career at the Anderson Herald Bulletin before retiring.

Robert was a true tinkerer at heart. Whether working on radio-controlled boats, HAM radios, or cars, he was always busy with a new project. He loved spending time with his HAM radio friends, often enjoying afternoons at the shooting range with them. A jack-of-all-trades, Robert had a lifelong passion for learning and mastering new skills.

Above all, Robert deeply loved and cherished his family. His devotion to them was evident in all he did.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Doris; children, Amanda (Deron) Funk, Tari (John) Hendricks, and Kathy Score; grandchildren, Brandon (Abby) Funk, Cortney (Chris) Rundell, Brenden Hendricks, Elizabeth Score, and Julia Score; great-grandchildren, Arlo, Ella, Emmy, and Ensley; sister-in-law, Marilyn Mason; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Mason.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 starting at 11:00am at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Gary Cable officiating.

Robert's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel.
