Robert L. “Bob” Carson, 81, of Anderson, passed away May 12, 2015, at his residence following an extended illness.
Bob was born July 24, 1933, in Anderson, to the late Leon and Nellie (Brown) Carson. He was a 1952 graduate of Anderson High School, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a 33 year employee of Delco-Remy.
Bob was a member of AMVETS, American Legion, Moose Lodge, Eagles
and United Auto Workers Local 662. He had a zest for life that included
hunting, fishing, camping, playing pranks and dancing. But his first love was
always his family.
He is survived by his daughters; Tammy Martz, of Fishers, Kim Funk of
Anderson; and their mother, Crystal Carson; grandchildren, Chastity Martz-
McCord, Erica, Leigha, Kevin, Laura Funk; four great grandchildren; brother’s and sister; Gene (Sharon) Carson, Linda Little, Billy (Tina) Carson; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Ron Maze who lovingly helped take care of Bob.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Carson.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service &
Crematory, with Rev. Ned Clark officiating. Military honors will be
provided by Veterns of Foreign Wars Post 266.
Burial will be at a later date at Anderson Memorial Park.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of
America.
