On Monday, October 7, 2024, Robert L. Bob “Bud” Davids, finally crossed the finish line of his life after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Bob/Bud was born May 5, 1937, in Frankfort, Indiana. He was a retired veteran of the Indiana National Guard, a former police officer and town marshal, a retired corrections officer at the Central Indiana Facility in Pendleton, Indiana and a plumber, while being a self-proclaimed “Mr. Fix-It” of things around the home. Still, Bob’s true passions were fishing and hunting all around the Midwest. He also loved and enjoyed his pet dogs. Bob and his wife Stephanie were known in the Indiana fair community for their business Artistic Tinkerings. Finally, Bob loved to stop at garage sales and auctions to shop for fishing and hunting gear, antique toys and pretty much anything that caught his fancy or he felt he could resell for a profit.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Melva Davids; brother, Henry Eugene “John” Davids and sisters, Hazel, Rosemary, Wilma, Carolyn and Ruby; and his wife of 34 years, Stephanie L. (Dart) Davids.
Bob is survived by his sons, Bobby Davids of Lebanon, IN; Barry Davids (wife, Diana) of Shelbyville, IN; Scott “Bryan” Davids (partner, Lori Weaver) also of Lebanon; and Steve Wessel of Hope, IN. Additionally, Bob is survived by his stepsons, Scott Keller (wife, Jill) of Pendleton, IN, and Stephen Keller (wife, Jean) of Ventura, CA. Also surviving are two nieces and two nephews, especially Lisa Smiley (husband, Neal) from Frankfort, IN; in addition to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will take place at Bozell Funeral Home – Lahm Chapel at 211 E. State Street in Pendleton, Indiana on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM, with a memorial service immediately afterwards at the funeral home. A brief graveside service will follow later that same afternoon at Kilmore Cemetery north of Frankfort, Indiana.
