Robert Dean "Bob" Chaney, 70, of Pendleton, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, leaving behind cherished memories with his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Robert, affectionately known as Bob or Bobby, was a proud Lapel High School Bulldog, graduating with the Class of 1973. Following high school, he was selected as a Delco Remy Co-op student and graduated from Ball State University in 1979. Throughout his career, Bob worked at Nicholson File in Anderson; Delco Remy in Anderson and Albany, Georgia; and Delphi in Anderson and Kokomo.

Bob and his wife, Terri, would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in two weeks. Bob was a proud member of Crossroads Baptist Church and a devoted follower of Christ. He placed his trust in Christ as his Savior and publicly professed his faith through believers' baptism in 1997. He was known for his larger-than-life personality, his ornery sense of humor, and his ability to light up a room wherever he went. Bob had a special gift for making people smile and feel welcome. He was also an avid golfer and Boilermaker fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maxine Chaney; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Billie Jean Ward; a grandson, Gabe Grubbs; his sister and brother-in-law, Lynne Ann and Jim King; a niece, Tina Stanley; a brother-in-law, Rick Wise; and a great-niece, Summer Nicole Ray.

Bob is survived by his wife, Terri Chaney; daughter, Traci (Garrett) Grubbs; grandchildren, Caleb Grubbs and Chaney Grubbs; sisters-in-law, Peggy Wise and Kathy (Bruce) Ray; nieces and nephews, Bryan King, LeeAnne Fisher, Tyler Wise, Evan Wise, Jordan Wise, Austin Ray, and Ashley Faller; and lifelong friends Donnie Teeters and Dan Bauer. He is also survived by many other family members and friends who will forever remember his humor, his spirit, and the light he brought into their lives. Bob will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and always loved.
