Richard Lee "Pete" Williams, 90, of Knightstown, passed away on May 20, 2026, at The Waters of New Castle following a brief illness.
He was born on March 19, 1936, in New Castle, Indiana to Herbert Lee and Marqueriete Elaine (Pike) Williams. He was a 1954 graduate of Knightstown High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and retired after many years of service. He was in maintenance for Gas America.
He was a member of Friends Church of Kennard and SMD Church of God, New Castle, Indiana. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching races. He loved to read.
Pete is survived by his two sons, Rodney (wife, Paula) Williams of Rushville, Indiana and Gary (wife, Linda) Williams of Knightstown; four grandchildren, Nikki, Ashlee, Gretchen and Kloie; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mike Williams of Missouri and Bill Williams of Knightstown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife whom he married April 5, 1958, Peggy L. (McRoberts) Williams; his parents; and two brothers, Leonard Williams and James Williams.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Condo Chapel, 130 South Main Street, Wilkinson, Indiana 46186 with Brian Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Hicksite Cemetery in Greensboro. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Knightstown American Legion Post #152.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the funeral home.
