Richard Cecil “Rick” Aynes Jr.

February 5, 1946 — December 29, 2023

Richard “Rick” Aynes Jr., 77, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023.  He was born February 5, 1946, to Richard and Thelma (Dowden) Aynes in Anderson, Indiana.  Rick gallantly served the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967, during the Vietnam War.  Rick enjoyed driving a semi for many years until becoming the Maintenance Supervisor at the Indiana Department of Corrections where he retired from.   He married Trena (Fesler) Aynes on June 8, 1985.

He was a snowbird at heart,  spending time with his Florida family as much as he could.  Rick loved deeply and was steadfast in that and life.  He truly enjoyed traveling and driving a truck. He was always having fun with his friends and family.  He hated to hear the word “No”. Often his family would have to put a spin on telling him no.

Rick is survived by his wife Trena; son, Brian Aynes; daughter, Angie (Jimmie) Humphrey: Step-son, Chip Myers and step-daughter, Tearle (Eric) Dwiggins; grandchildren, Bryant Moore, Halee Cox, Clayton (Krista) Myers, Tyler (Chris) Dwiggins, Zoe Dwiggins,  great-grandchildren, Anna Moore, Joshua Syphers and Elaina Myers; nephew, Corey Fisher; niece, Courtney Aynes; sisters, Terry (Bud) Mabbitt and Mary (Bob) Mabbitt; nephews, Brandon and Brock Heathcotte and  sister-in-law, Toby Heathcotte all of Glendale, Arizona.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Aynes; niece, Morgan Mabbitt and nephew, Matthew Mabbitt.
