Phillip Scott, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on June 25, 2026 in Port Charlotte, FL surrounded by his family. Born on August 18, 1946 in Anderson, IN, Phillip’s life was a testament to love, generosity and dedication.
Phillip served in the US Army and then began his career in the corrugated paper business where he excelled and prospered for 40 years. In 1998 he was in a partnership that formed Flutes, Inc. a corrugated specialty division. He served as President from 1998 to his retirement in 2008.
He married his beloved wife, Kathy, in 1970 and were married for 55 years. They resided in Lake Suzy, Florida for the past 12 years and attended Venice Church of the Nazarene.
Phillip loved NASCAR, the Pacers and spending time with his family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Nicholas and Julia.
Phillip is preceded in death by his father, Everett Scott ,his mother, Della Wilson, step father, Clifford Wilson, sisters Sheila Hampton and Julie Scott, his brother, Larry Scott, his brother in-law Joseph Riley, his nephew Brian Jones, his mother and father in-law Max and Colleen Hodge, and his little buddy Teddy.
He is survived by his wife, Kathlyn (Hodge) Scott, daughter, Kimberly (Scott) Lupo, son in-law, Steven Lupo, grandchildren, Nicholas and Julia Lupo, brothers , Danny Warrum and wife Millie, David Scott and wife Vicki, Joe Scott, Eric Wilson and wife Melissa, and Mike Wilson, sisters Sharon Joslin and husband Wayne, and Carol Riley, brothers in-law Bob Hodge and wife Joyce, Jim Hodge and partner Krystal Lee, Rick Hodge and wife Anita, and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 10:00am - 1:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.
A funeral service celebrating Phillips's life will take place on Tuesdy, July 7, 2026 at the funeral home starting at 1:00 pm. Burial will conclude services at East Maplewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 223 W. Jackson Blvd., Suite 350, Chicago, IL 60606.
