Phillip Michael Gaunt

Phillip Michael Gaunt, 83, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away on May 7, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. Born on December 27, 1942, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Stuart Gaunt and Glendora (Brown) Kennedy. Phillip was a devoted husband to his wife, Linda (Harter) Gaunt.

After graduating from Anderson High School in 1961, Phillip spent many years working for Delco Remy. He was a proud representative of the UAW local 662 and had a deep passion for community involvement. A man of many interests, he was the past president of the Anderson Bowling Association in 1993, coached little league baseball, involved in the soap box derby, and was an avid sports fan. Phillip was also a valued member of Man 4 Man Ministries.

Phillip is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, their children, Julie Johnston, Todd Gaunt, and Andrew (April) Gaunt; step-children, Angela Crane, Marshall (Lindsey) Berkebile, and Cory (Amanda) Berkebile; siblings, Dan (Janice) Gaunt, Carolyn Kennedy, and Bill (Sharon) Kennedy, as well as 14 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Samuel Johnston, great-grandson, Bennett Gaunt, and son-in-law, Brian Johnston.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026, at East Side Church of God, 2600 E 5th St, Anderson, IN 46012, with Pastor Kerry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.

Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026, at East Side Church of God.
