Peggy Deverter, of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2025, surrounded by her loving children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kind and generous spirit touched all who knew her.
Born February 21st, 1940 in Sweetser, Indiana. Peggy built a life centered on love, faith, and service to others. She was known for her generosity and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She began her career as a nurse and then transitioned to business. She built a thriving Home Interiors business, where she led and mentored many from the local to the national level. Outside of work, she served on non-profit boards and was a longtime active member of the Church of God. Peggy regularly contributed to her faith community through volunteer service, hospitality, and prayer.
Peggy is survived by her five children, Lisa Miller, Randy England (Mary Beth), Mike England (Nancy), Jill Mathews, and Jenny Corbin (Rick), as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Deverter, and daughter, Jolene England.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that Peggy's legacy of faith and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at Chesterfield Community Church of God on Thursday, September 4th at 1:00pm with visitation prior at 11:00am.
