Patty Jo Elwood

Patty Jo Elwood was called to Heaven in the early hours of April 14, 2026, with her daughter by her side.

Patty Jo was the first born child of Marvin and Maxine (Micun) Hupp of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Patty lived the majority of her life in Indianapolis where she attended Scecina Memorial High School ('74) and worked the majority of her career at USAGroup- SallieMae.

Patty was the anchor of her family and would do anything for her beloved children and grandchildren. She enjoyed being in or near the water, whether that be fishing, boating or spending time on the beach. A happy soul - PJ loved to laugh and found happiness in just being useful to her loved ones. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded by her parents, husband Steve Elwood, her son, Christopher Elwood, her partner of 20 years, Steven Eward and one sister, Diane Rodich.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Elwood-Griffey, grandchildren Elyssa Bixby (Michael) Jalynne Bruner and Brayden Bruner. Brothers Michael (Linda) and Tony (Lori) Hupp and Sisters Theresa (Jim) Onken and Kathleen Morgan, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Patty will live on forever in our precious memories.

Patty's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory- Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel.
