Patsy E. Carlin

Patsy E. Carlin, 73, Lapel, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following a brief illness.
She was born on August 26, 1936, in Lee County, Virginia to Peter and Cornelia (Hilton) Risco.
Patsy was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Lapel.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joe Carlin; two children, Patti (husband, Harold, II) McDermit of Anderson, and Tim Carlin of Lapel; three granddaughters, Brandi Borum of Anderson, Kristina (Sprague) (husband, Joshua) Walls of Lapel, and Alicia Sprague of Lapel; two step-granddaughters, Stacy (McDermit) (husband, Nathan) Wainscott of Lapel and Beth McDermit of Anderson; two great-grandsons, Cody Meador and Alexander Leal of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Natalie Sprague; seven brothers and sisters, Lee Risco, Norman Risco, Mary Alice Jones, June Terrell, John Risco, Freda Paskins, and Jenny Retherford; and two nephews, Thurman Jones and Bradley Dorsey.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, August 5, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dillard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
