It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Lennen on October 10, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on December 17, 1953, in Anderson, Indiana, Pat dedicated his life to his work as an auto technician.
Pat proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany and his memories from that time remained an important part of who he was. He built a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Peggy (Baker) Lennen, and together they raised a family that he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Jo (Baker) Lennen; and his sister, Betty (Joe) McPhearson. Pat will be missed by his children, including Joe Arteritano, Shawn Arteritano, Carl Lennen III, Joshua (Claire) Lennen, Justin (Yvonne) Lennen, Jeremy Lennen, Pat Lennen Jr., and Justin Morrison. His legacy will continue through his grandchildren, Kyle Lennen, Kaleb Lennen, Dustin Young, Tiffany (Brandon) Weddell, Andrew (Anna Marie) Lennen, Ashlie Arteritano, Cortney Arteritano, Connor Lennen, Benjamin Lennen, and Emily Elizabeth, as well as several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
And let's not forget Stella, his cat who ruled his house and provided endless comfort over the years. He often joked that she just let the rest of us live there!
Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Terry Lennen and Don Hurst, and his son, Craig Lennen. He was also preceded by his daughter-in-law, Christina Arteritano.
He enjoyed taking his 1937 Studebaker to car shows. Pat was a member of the Good Guys Hot Rod Association and was an avid Hot Rodder. He was also a member of Modern Antiques and Brandywine Cruisers.
Pat also was a NSRA Safety Inspector and ISRA President for several years.
Pat may have come off as a harsh man but he was the kindest soul you would ever meet. He was always willing to help those who needed or wanted help.
He had a nickname given many years ago given by a friend's daughter, relating to the harsh man. She called him "Grumpy" which stuck over the years. Those who were close to Pat, knew that he was a very caring person.
Pat was a good teacher. Things that needed to be done he wouldn't do it, but tell what needed to be done so the people he helped had that knowledge to accomplish the task.
If the kids would act up, he would tell them he was going to put a knot in their tail.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. We'll celebrate his spirit, his humor, and the many lives he touched, so come ready to reminisce.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to the Animal Protection League, a cause that Pat held dear. Your support means a great deal to us in this difficult time.Pat was an amazing person, and his warmth, wit, and love will be profoundly missed. Rest in peace, Pat. You definitely left a mark on this world.
