Patricia A. Shelby, 84, of Pendleton, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at home in Pendleton following an extended illness.
She was born on September 22, 1941, in Daleville, Indiana to George and Margaret (Denny) Fisher. She was a 1959 graduate of Muncie Central High School and went on to earn her associate's degree from Ball State University. She was an LPN. Most of her adult years she spent as a homemaker and a substitute teacher at South Madison Schools.
Patricia was a member of the St. Anne's Anglican Church in Anderson, she loved her family and was instrumental in raising her grandchildren. She loved to read and do her Bible study. Patricia was an author and published several books, including some that she used in her classroom. She definitely had a passion for students and their families in Madison County.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Gerald Shelby of Pendleton; two daughters, Jennifer (husband, Jay) Sigler of Fortville, Lisa "Shannon" Horn (husband, Carl) of Lawrence; grandchildren, Ben (Jennie Holmes) Sigler, Nick (Samantha) Sigler and Elizabeth (Abhishek Kembhavimathada) Sigler, Brent Babrick, Linsey Babrick (Kyle Christie), and Carla King; two great-grandchildren, Jaida, and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and several brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday December 12, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lahm Chapel 211 E. State St. Pendleton, Indiana 46064. Visitation will be from Noon to 2:00 PM on Friday at the Chapel. Burial will take place at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton at a later date.
