Naomi Hancock, 88, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 5, 1936, in Salem, Indiana. Naomi dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her husband, Frank Hancock Jr, and seven children.
Naomi's greatest joys came from spending time with her family and feeding everyone. Her homemade baked goods were legendary in the neighborhood and to the local businesses she visited every week, and her holiday gatherings were eagerly anticipated by family and friends alike.
Naomi was a lover of cocker spaniels. Her partner in crime, Isabelle, was by her side when she passed away.
Naomi, along with husband Frank, owned the Lamplighter Tavern in Anderson, IN for over 30 years. Her cooking fed many at General Motors and the local community.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, daughter, Vicki Robinson and 2 grandchildren, Brandon Beason (Lauren) & Jenny Correll; daughter-in-law, Mary Michael and 3 grandchildren Jason Michael (Susie), Brian Michael (Shelly), and Tammy Michael (Whitney); son, Jerry Michael and wife, Carol; son, Jack Michael and wife, Jackie and grandson, Christopher Michael; son, Terry Michael and wife, Kris and grandson, Joshua Michael; son, Larry Michael and wife, Dana with 2 grandchildren, Caitlynn Miller and husband, Austin and Connor Michael; daughter, Tammy Smedley and husband, Michael with grandchildren, Joey & Danny Vaughn, Joel Vaughn, Theron Smedley, Lauren Smedley.
Naomi is also survived by sister, Louise Brewer of Albany, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Maude Smith; sister, Lela Brandenburg; son, John Michael; granddaughter, Megan Ann Michael; great-great-grandson, Coleson Michael; and her 2 cocker spaniels Barney 1 & 2.
Special thanks to her caregivers Melody Bittner & Tammy Michael. Knowing you both were with her at the end of her life provided a special comfort to all.
The visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 12th, 2025 at Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The funeral ceremony will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Naomi's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes.
