In Loving Memory of Nancy Jeanette Day (née Bright)

Nancy Jeanette Day (née Bright) passed away on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy marked by humor, independence, strength, and love.

Born on January 9, 1939, in Pendleton, Indiana, Nancy was the daughter of Connie and Suzie Bright. Growing up in a small community, Nancy was shaped by the values instilled in her by her parents, who owned and operated the local funeral home. From this unique upbringing, she gained a deep sense of empathy and an unshakable work ethic-traits that would carry her through all stages of life.

Nancy held warm memories of her childhood in Pendleton, from afternoon sodas on Main Street to long summer days spent swimming at the town pool.

Nancy was the mother of Jeffrey and Shella Wilde, and a proud grandmother to Jenny, Stacey, Taylor, and Julian. She loved sharing stories and memories of the good times they had together.

With an amazing eye and impeccable taste, Nancy worked as an interior designer. She could spot quality in an instant and had a knack for arranging spaces with elegance and ease. Nancy had an impressive ability to eyeball the perfect hanging of pictures with precision that didn't need a tape measure.

A sharp wit and a healthy dose of sarcasm were never far from her lips. Nancy was quick with a joke, unapologetically herself, and unafraid to stand up for what she believed in. Her independence defined her, and she carried that spirit with her through every chapter of life.

Like all lives, Nancy's journey had its share of ups and downs, but she met each moment with strength and resilience. Nancy is preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeffrey and her cherished grandson, Taylor.

Nancy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those lucky enough to know her.
