Kelvin Carl Smith, 70, of Pendleton, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
He was born in Indianapolis to the late, Carlos Woodrow & Evelyn (Sanderlin) Smith.
Kelvin was a man of many talents, having been a truck driver for over 40 years while doing many things during that time. He had done everything from managing a pizza restaurant, to owning his own semis, he owned & operated Smith Quality Concrete from 1995-2011, to lastly refinishing vintage furniture with his Babydoll of 36 years, Monica. Kelvin had a passion for motorcycles, whether it was building, riding, or customizing them, as long as it was a Harley. For seven years he had been a youth pastor and participated in a mission trip to Haiti with Alethia Fellowship. Above all else, his truest passion was being a family man and being the best “Pap” to his granddaughters.
Kelvin is survived by his wife of 36 years, Monica (Upton) Smith; daughters, Holly Upton, Kendra Smith, & Michelle (husband, Kyle) Leathers; granddaughters, Stella & Lucy Leathers; sister, Susan “Sue” Smith; special friends, Pastor Gary & Pam McCaslin, and Steve & Sherry Hoskins; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Kathy Harris, Robert Smith, & Jimmy Smith.
Services will be at 1:00 pm Monday, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Lahm Chapel. Burial will be at Grove Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
