Mildred "Kay" Freeman, 76, of Lapel, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Prairie Lakes in Noblesville following an extended illness.
She was born on November 9, 1947, in Anniston, Alabama to Marvin Sr. and Ora (Marbut) Jones.
She attended Jacksonville High School. She was a retired beautician.
She loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. She prayed for her family daily and was dedicated to her faith. She loved to travel.
Kay is survived by her children, Stacey Dawn (husband, Norris) Teeters of Lapel, Mark (wife, Tonya) Traylor of Hodges, Alabama and Curtis (wife, Stephanie) Freeman of Odenville, Alabama; six grandchildren, Blaine Teeters, Tristen Teeters, Chelsea (husband, Ryan) Johnson, Aaron (wife, Emily) Thomas, Peyton (wife, Taylor) Freeman and Chandler Freeman; one great-granddaughter, Avery Kate; a sister, Marie Ponder of Heflin, Alabama; three sisters-in-law, Mary Jones of Jacksonville, Alabama, Carol (husband, Ray) Daniels of Heflin, Alabama and Becky (husband, Roger) Allcorn of Birmingham, Alabama; a brother-in-law, Harold Jones of Heflin, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Val Mott Freeman III; her parents; and siblings, Marvin Jones Jr., Robert "Rabbit" Jones, Mary Jones, Lynda Austin and James "Jimmy" Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church,9900 East 191st Street, Noblesville, Indiana 46060 with Rev. Clayton Thompson officiating. Cremation will take place with burial of ashes in Birmingham, Alabama at a later date.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the church.
