Michael David Nicholson

Michael David Nicholson, 63, of Lapel, passed away on July 22, 2026, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis following a brief illness. 

He was born on June 2, 1963, in Anderson, Indiana to David Leroy and Soteria G. (Pancol) Nicholson. He was a graduate of Madison Heights High School. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree, attending both Ball State University and Mid-America. He was a customer service representative in the lending industry.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Anderson. He was also a member of the Lapel Lions Club. He loved to sing and was a member of First Light praise band. 

He was a social planner and had a servant's heart. Family was Mike's only priority and he was the anchor of the family. He was an overwhelmingly amazing caretaker. He always had a smile on his face. His main goal was to provide for his family. Food was Mike's love language. He was half Greek and enjoyed making Greek pastries. He enjoyed tanning and being outside, especially in Florida.

Michael is survived by his wife, Deborah Lou (Robertson) Nicholson; a son, Noah Nicholson; and two daughters, Alexandra (husband, Daniel) Riggs and Sophia Nicholson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Christopher Nicholson. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Bethel Community Church, 4011 West 200 South, Anderson, Indiana 46011 with Pastor Kristine Marshall officiating. Cremation will follow. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the church.
