Maxine Lee Wilson, 88, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on May 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 17, 1937, in Anderson, Indiana, Maxine was the daughter of Thomas L. and Stella L. (Brown) Perry. She dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, pouring her heart into caring for her children and creating a warm, loving home.
Maxine was married to Roy Wilson for 50 years, and was an active participant in her community, especially with Madison County 4-H, helping her kids thrive. She had a great time coordinating events at Redman's Lodge and was a proud member of the Chesterfield American Legion. Anyone who knew her could tell you that she had a passion for bowling in her younger days, but her true love was out on the water, fishing and enjoying life.
As a mother and grandmother, Maxine was a big kid at heart, always willing to do anything for her grandchildren. In her later years, she found joy in coloring.
She is survived by her children, Leandrea (Chris) Gentry and Steven Wilson; One sister, Alberta "Bert" Bennett; Six grandchildren, Greg (Crystal) Wilson, Heather Wilson, Drew Wilson, Lauren (Jeremy) Robbins, Taylor (Yesenia) Gentry, and Ashley (Braxton) Moore; Seven great-grandchildren, Three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy, her son, Doug Wilson, seven brothers, Thomas Pat, Louis, Butch, Bill, Paul, and Floyd, and three sisters, Alice, Phyllis, and Edna.
Visitiation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.
A funeral service will follow visitation starting at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
