It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew "Matt" Craig Williamson, a cherished father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, who left us on January 23, 2026. Born to Dennis and Nancy (Carwile) Williamson, Matt dedicated his life to his family and friends.
A proud graduate of Anderson High School, class of 1993, Matt committed himself to his work as a maintenance technician at Oscar Larson Petroleum. His mechanical prowess and passion for tinkering with tools were a reflection of his hands-on approach to life. Matt's joyful spirit and steadfast dedication to both family and work will always be remembered by those he touched.
Matt was an esteemed member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sons of the American Legion at the American Legion Post 127.
Above all, Matt treasured his family. He was the proud father of Shayla (Jshaun) Olden, Maliya, Izabella, Hali, Hunter Williamson, and Seth (Zoey) Hart, and a devoted grandfather to Lukah Olden, Alaiiah, Ezra, Deniem Williamson and Hazel Hart. Family gatherings were his happiest moments, and nothing brought him more joy than sharing laughter and love with his children and grandchildren. His heart also belonged to his beloved dog and his cherished fish, who were constant companions in his adventures.
He leaves behind his parents, sister, Nicole (Steve) Shepler, as well as his loving aunt and uncle, Mary (Williamson) and Michael Scott. Matt is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Nelda (Irvin) Williamson and Milton and Gloria (Burton) Carwile; his uncle, Doug Carwile; and his aunts, Helen Arnold and Tina Marie Williamson.
Matt's memory will be honored in a celebration of life that will take place at a later date at the American Legion post 127, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and legacy. In this time of sorrow, may we find solace in the memories we hold dear. Matthew Williamson will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the love he nurtured and the lives he impacted.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Matt's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory- Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel.
