MarieEllana Judith McCoy, known to everyone who loved her simply as Judy, passed away on October 4, 2026. She was 80 years old.Judy was born on May 22, 1946, in New Jersey, and even after more than 40 years in Indiana, she never stopped being a Jersey girl at heart. It was part of who she was, that spark and that spirit, and anyone who knew her could tell you so.
Life took Judy to some wonderful places. She lived in Germany while her husband Tom served in the Army, and the two of them shared a memorable trip to Hawaii, the kind of adventure she carried with her for the rest of her days. Judy was a devoted reader who could lose herself in a good book, and she took real pride in collecting things over the years like Boyd's bears and dolls. Most of all, Judy loved animals. Cats and dogs filled her life and her heart, and her dogs in particular were her joy and her constant companions. Her beloved Josh, a Keishound; Jake, a Pomeranian; and Chico, her little Chihuahua, held a special place that she never forgot. Her pets were family, plain and simple.
Judy was preceded in death by her husbands, Tom McCoy, George Wilkins and Lloyd Stackhouse; her son, George "Ricky" Wilkins; her father, James "Harry" Hall; her mother, Elsie Boenig; her stepfather, Fred Boenig Jr.; her brother, Robert Bouno; and her bonus children, Tracy McCoy and Jody Kelly.
She leaves behind her sons, Steven (Linda) Stackhouse and Thomas Stackhouse; her brother, Fred (Debbie) Boenig; her bonus son, Tim McCoy; and her bonus daughter, Shannon (Tim) Harley. She was also a proud grandmother to Erin (Dylan) Healow, Megan (Kory) Eitelman, Cory (Dana) Stackhouse, Kiley Stackhouse, Brett Stackhouse and Benjamin Stackhouse; along with nine great-grandchildren.
