WILKINSON- Marcia (Jackson) Willis, age 83, of Wilkinson, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born February 2, 1943, in Anderson, Indiana to Hubert “Joe” E. and Gladys L. (Mahoney) Jackson. She was baptized into the Catholic faith at 16. She was a proud graduate of Wilkinson High School in May of 1961.
Blessed with many talents and interests, Marcia pursued several careers throughout her life. She cared for patients as a nurse's aide and ward clerk, helped clients express their personal style as a beautician, and shared her passion for creating beautiful homes as a Home Interiors Consultant. In every role, she enjoyed connecting with people and making a positive difference in their lives.
Above all else, Marcia treasured her roles as Wife, Mom, and Grand. She married her beloved husband, Denzil Willis, on July 8, 1963, in Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Together they shared 63 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family. They were blessed with two sons, Kirt and Kent, whom Marcia loved dearly. Fiercely devoted to her family, she was their biggest supporter, strongest advocate, and a proud Mama Bear to her cubs. When her grandsons, Kyle and Kole, arrived, she wholeheartedly embraced her role as "Grand." She filled her years attending sporting events, school programs, and special events, rarely missing an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and share in their lives.
Marcia found joy in many places throughout her life. Christmas was her favorite season, and for many years every room in her home featured its own Christmas tree, each decorated with a unique theme. Marcia and her sister, Cheryl, shared a special bond and a lifetime of adventures, creating treasured memories together and with Denzil and Steve through the years. In 2000, she met her best friend, Johnnie (Dr. Tom) Taylor, in Texas, and their friendship became one of the great blessings of her life. Marcia also maintained close ties with her Wilkinson High School Class of 1961, cherishing the lifelong friendships and memories they shared.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; and special aunts, Marybelle McPheron and Bonnie Wagner.
Marcia is survived by her husband Denzil; sons Kirt (Patty) and Kent (Becky); grandchildren Kyle Willis, Kole Willis, Emily (Brandon) Herbert, and Austin (Brooke) Craft; great-grandchildren William, Ryan, Clayton, and Deliah; Sister Cheryl (Steve) Middendorf; Brothers David (Debbie) Jackson and Mark Jackson; Aunt Lois Tharpe; Brothers-in-law David Willis, Jerry Willis, and Jerome Willis; Sister-in-law Laura Willis; several nieces and nephews; and classmates Edith, Karen, Colleen, Terry, Susie, and Delby.
