M. Jane Cox

M. Jane "Janie" Cox, 77, of Anderson, passed away on September 11, 2026. Janie was born on June 15, 1949 in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey to the late Calvin F. and Miranda H. (Tomson) Edrington. Janie graduated from Lapel High School in 1967 and then went on to attend and graduate Ball State University with a bachelors degree in 1976. Janie had been working for Marsh Supermarkets in the floral department and other various roles since 1971 and retired after 2000, working there for at least 30 years!

Janie was a true pet lover through and through. She enjoyed fishing, taking many trips to Minnesota with her family, camping, and gardening in her flower gardens. She was also a member of the Veterans of Madison County with her companion, Frank Hogue.

Left to cherish her memories is her partner and best friend, Frank Hogue; her son, Erik (Crissy) Cox; step-son, Scott Cox; grandchildren, Nicholas, Ella, and Adalynn Cox; sister, Rosemary (Dennis) Stauss; brother, David (Denise) Edrington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Jim Cox; step-son, Gregory Cox; and niece, Joanna Stauss.

Per Janie's wishes, a private burial service will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janie's name may be gifted to a Humane Society of the donors choice, Riley Children's Hospital, or a college of the donors choice.
