Linda Mae King, 77, of Anderson, Indiana, left us on February 1, 2026, at Community Hospital. Born on January 18, 1949, in Crossville, TN, Linda was the daughter of Roy and Myrtle (Stephens) Stone. After moving to Indiana, she settled in Pendleton, where she graduated from Pendleton Heights High School.
Linda had a passion for making people feel beautiful, spending time as a beautician before retiring after a solid 15-year run at Payless. She loved to shop, spending time with her sister-in-law, Brenda, and they could often be found exploring stores together in their younger years.
Her heart was always with family, especially during those cherished trips back to Tennessee to visit. Gardening and tending to her yard brought her immense joy and pride. Linda adored her family and grandchildren, often babysitting and caring for little ones, because, in her eyes, there was nothing quite like the warmth of family and taking care of children.
A dedicated believer, Linda wanted everyone to nurture their relationship with the Lord, while also fostering kindness and connection among one another.
Linda is survived by her grandchildren, Ashley and Gracie King of Pendleton; Special family friend, Jay Sniegowski of Pendleton; Siblings, Leroy (Georgienna) Stone, Rick (Cindy) Stone, and Kathy (Larry) Reed; Sister-in-law, Paula King of Anderson; Brother-in-law, Neal Vandergrift; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roland King, children, Lesa King, Shannon Perry, and Shawn King, and her sister, Cooki Byrge.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, Feburary 6, 2026 at 12:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013. Burial will conclude services at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton.
