Linda Harless, 83, of Pendleton, passed away on Monday, November 27th, 2023, at Community Hospital Anderson. She was born May 9, 1940, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, a daughter of Odus and Lela (Isaac) Todd. She graduated from Markleville High School in 1958. Linda married Gilbert Harless on June 24, 1962. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary earlier this year.
She retired from General Motors in Anderson on May 1st, 1999. She was a member of Ovid Community Church, the Mary Martha Circle of Ovid, and the Red Hat’s Queen B’s. Linda enjoyed sewing purses and vests and making crafts for the Pendleton Fall Creek Heritage Fair, where she set up a booth annually for several years to sell her crafts. She also enjoyed going fishing and loved tending her outside flowers. She was her grandchildren’s #1 fan, cheering them on in basketball, baseball, and soccer. She loved attending her grandsons’ Liberty Christian School athletic events. She also cheered for Patrick “Manhomes” aka Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Linda is survived by her husband, Gilbert Harless of Pendleton, and their three children: Robyn (Terry) Quinn of Pendleton, Ron (Julie Morrison) Harless of Pendleton, and Andrea (Mike) Fulton of Anderson. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Preston Quinn, Peyton Quinn, Shane Harless, Thomas (Whitney) Harless, Christopher Fulton, and Sierra Fulton. She also has five great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Luca, Rowan, Vada, and Emelia. Also surviving are four cats she owned together with Gilbert: George, Martha, Peaches and Spooky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Odus and Lela Todd; a sister, Brenda Hiday; and a grandson, Brandon Fulton.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 2nd at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, 211 E. State Street, Pendleton, Indiana. The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Stephen Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton. Memorial contributions may be made to Ovid Community Church’s “Mary Martha Circle.”
