Linda Lou Godbey, 77, of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her son's home on August 23, 2026. Born on August 4, 1949, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Frank and Ethel Wortham, Linda lived her life with a heart full of love and a knack for nurturing everyone around her.

Linda had an infectious laugh and wonderful sense of humor. She was a true family woman. She was a loving mom and grandmother, always putting her family first. She had a special talent for gardening, turning her backyard into a vibrant sanctuary filled with flowers, birds and butterflies. Linda loved to play slots, pull tabs and to travel. Her talents included quilting and sewing, and her love for cooking meant that no one ever left her home hungry; meals with Linda were events filled with laughter and good food.

Retired after a long and dedicated career, Linda worked in direct shipment at Walmart for 34 years. She contributed her talents at Excello in Pendleton. For 15 years, she also worked at Lutz Steakhouse in Westfield. She cherished taking care of her grandchildren, neighbors, and any kid who came her way.

Linda is survived by her children, Angie (Bill) Greenwood, Scott (Krista) Godbey, Brandon Godbey, and Blaine (Mendi) Godbey; Four siblings, Judy Keenan, Patty Hamrick, Jeanette Blackshear, Paul (Lisa) Wortham; Grandchildren, Emily (Thomas) Federle, Nick (Emily White) Jones, Ethan Godbey, Caleb Godbey, Issac Godbey, Mason Godbey, Adley Godbey, Tyler Godbey, Madison Godbey, and Asher Godbey; Great-Grandson, Theo Federle. We can't forget to mention her grand fur baby she loved so much, Hank.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ethel Wortham; Sister, Peggy, and Brother, Frankie. She is also preceded in death by her grandchildren, Jake Godbey, Kaleigh Jones, and Elizabeth Godbey.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 East State Street, Pendleton, Indiana 46064. A funeral service will be on Thursday starting at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will conclude services at Friends Cemetery in Pendleton.
