Leo P. Wise

Leo P. Wise, 76, Lapel, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville following a brief illness. He was born on April 21, 1938, in Anderson, Indiana to Forrest and Iris (Schultz) Wise. Leo was a U. A. Army veteran and he retired from the former Firestone Industrial Products in Noblesville. He was a member of the Lapel American Legion Post 212; the I. R. W. Union; and the Hamilton County Bow Hunters Club. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley (Kerekes) Wise; three daughters, Laurie Wise Barker of Anderson, Dawn Wise Dunbar of Florence, KY, and Kelly Wise Rosser of Middletown, OH; nine grandchildren, Allison, Elliott, Brittany, T J, Matthew, Kaela, Kara, Kaitlin, and Jenna Brooke; one great-grandson, Kyler; one sister, Cindy Kimball of Orland, ME; and one sister-in-law, Virginia Wise of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Guy and Lavonne; and one sister, Lazerna. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, December 15, 2014, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel followed by military rites performed by the Lapel American Legion Post 212. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Monday, December 15, 2014, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.
