Larry Lee Montgomery, 85, of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Community Hospital in Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born on January 31, 1941, in Anderson, Indiana to James David and Elma Delores (Craig) Montgomery.
He was a truck driver for many years. He formerly owned the Lapel Family Restaurant and Bar.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed fishing.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Melanie Chiccine; six grandchildren, Kelli, Julee, Lesly, Christopher, Amanda and Chance; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Dave (wife, Carol) Montgomery; a sister, Nancy Elliott; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josie V. Maxwell; his son, Larry Lee Montgomery II; and his parents.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051. Cremation will take place.
