Larry V. Hough, 83, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Tidewell Hospice in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. He was born on October 4, 1941, in Muncie, Indiana, to Archie Verl and Nellie May (Rinker) Hough. Larry was raised and graduated from Daleville, IN. He furthered his education at GMI where he was President of Delta Tau Delta and graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree. He worked for General Motors/EDS his entire career.
Larry was married to Brenda Faye (Lee) on June 17, 1967 and to this union they had two beautiful children, David and Stacey. Larry showed his commitment and devotion to his family by being Brenda’s caregiver when she became ill and was a devoted father to both children. Larry was delighted in being called Poppa Puff. During his marriage to Brenda, he traveled to Hawaii and California, treasured his moments camping and enjoyed Mama Ruth’s cooking while visiting Tennessee. Likewise, he supported David’s high school and American Legion baseball by travelling to games in Indiana and Ohio and enjoyed Stacey’s high school chorus performances.
Larry leaves behind his loving spouse, Kathleen Hough, his children: David (Holly) Hough, Stacey Hough, Step-children: Cindy (Burt) Metzger, Jeff (Kara) Miller; Grandchildren: Kelsey (Thomas) Dey, Lexi Hough, Lidiya Hough, Mackenzie Hough: Step-Grandchildren: Jacob Ohler, Haley Miller, Kate Miller, Mallory Metzger, Kendra Metzger; Great Grandchildren: Jax and Addi and one expected February; Siblings: Nancy Smith (Elzie), Donna Bookout, Connie Baty (Cecil), Dale Hough (Roxie).
Larry and Kathy wed in 2008. He continued his deep love and compassion for family into his marriage with Kathy and their blended family. They began their life together in Indiana where they were members of the Indianapolis Hiking Club and took multiple trips in and out of the country.
Larry enjoyed playing Texas Hold’Em at the Casino and with neighborhood friends. A few of Larry’s favorite trips later in life were spent with his sister Connie and Brother- In-Law, Cecil, mainly to the western part of the US. He also enjoyed hiking with Stacey primarily in Brown County. Larry loved travelling and taking cruises all around the world including the Transpacific and Transatlantic. He has visited many National Parks and especially enjoyed seeing Machu Picchu and the Nazca lines in Peru. Larry is known to be an avid Colts, Pacer and Indiana Fever fan. He was a member of the Garden United Methodist Church until he moved to Florida in 2017 and he was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bradenton, FL.
Larry had a way of making everything brighter, his humor, and love will forever remain with all who knew him.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 10:00am – 12:00pm at Bozell Funeral Homes, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 East 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.
A short prayer service will follow visitation at 12:00pm on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will conclude services with a graveside remembrance at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to The National Park Foundation or the Lotus Fest, Bloomington, Indiana.
