Karolyn R. Schmitt

Karolyn R. Schmitt, of Anderson passed away December 29, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 16, 1943, in Anderson to Marvin and Thelma (Laux) Kluesner. 

Karolyn graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1961. She worked in Medical Records at St. John' s Hospital in Anderson for 41 years. 

Karolyn was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood. She loved spending time with her family in which she dearly loved.

Karolyn is survived by her loving husband Mike Schmitt of Anderson; two children, Michelle "Shelly" (Jon) Cunningham of Anderson, and Mark (Cindy) Schmitt of Anderson; four grandchildren, Jon Michael (Kati) Cunningham of Alexandria, Sara (Alex) Cunningham of Alexandria, Aaron (Kenzie Seidler) of Cloverdale, Hannah Seidler of Greenwood ; four great-grandchildren, Nora, Emma, Oliver and Lainey; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Schmitt; and her brother, Marvin Kluesner. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 Friday at St Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood, Indiana, officiated by Rev. Adam Mauman. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday at Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory 1010 N. Main St. Lapel, Indiana 46051. 

Burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel, Indiana.
