Julie A. Busby (Miller), 66, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, in her beloved French Lick, Indiana home - the place that held her heart and so many beautiful memories.
Born June 2, 1959, in Anderson, Indiana, Julie was the treasured daughter of Richard and Judy (Condon) Miller. She graduated from Anderson High School and later earned her bachelor's degree from Concordia College. Julie retired from the Guide Lamp Division of General Motors, where she worked as a benefits coordinator and was known for her wit and dedication to her town.
Julie and her husband, Royce - her best friend and soulmate - built a beautiful life together in Anderson and in their dream home in French Lick. That home was a gathering place for family and friends, filled with laughter, love, and countless memories. The porch, where so many stories were shared, will never be quite the same.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Royce L. Busby; her loving sons, Rick (Darla) Busby of Pendleton and Shawn (Amy) Busby of Salt Lake City, Utah; her mother, Judy (Condon) Miller; six grandchildren, Kelsie (Andy) Barva, Ryan (Lauren) Busby, and Wesley (Kortney) Busby, Nate Busby, Nick (Sierra) Busby, and Adam Busby; and seven great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to her days - Max, Addie, Katie, Jack, Roman, Teddy, and Vera. She is also survived by her brother, her first best friend, her greatest annoyance, and favorite sibling Troy (Angela) Miller of Naples, Florida, and her precious niece, Andersen Miller.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Miller; her grandmother, Ruthie Condon; and her uncle, John Condon.
Julie loved deeply and completely. Her family and her many friends - who were truly family in every sense - were the light of her life. If you were lucky enough to be part of her circle, you knew her loyalty, humor, and big-hearted spirit firsthand.
She shared a special bond with her parents and brother, often talking multiple times a day - sometimes about the Cubs score, sometimes the weather, or simply what they had for dinner. Their connection was constant and filled with love.
Julie's cousins held a very special place in her heart - Gary, Ross, and John were more like brothers than cousins, and she cherished every memory with them. She also shared a lifelong bond with Julie Grimes, her cousin by marriage but sister in every way that mattered.
Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and niece were her pride and joy. Not a day went by that she didn't talk about them, brag about them, or think about them with love. Her devotion to them will live on forever.
Of course, anyone who knew Julie knew about her other great loves - the Chicago Cubs, the Indianapolis Colts, the Hoosiers, old movies, and The Beatles (especially Paul McCartney). She was also a devoted Jeopardy fan and lover of trivia, always ready to test her quick wit and impressive memory. She could recite sports stats like a pro, quote her favorite films word for word, and sing every lyric to every Beatles song.
Julie will be greatly missed, and... as always... we love you once, we love you twice, we love you more than beans and rice.
