Jon William Bowden, 73, of Markleville, Indiana died November 3, 2025 at IU Health Fishers Hospital.
He was born September 23, 1952 in Greenfield, Indiana to the late Tom and Eloise Bowden.
Jon retired following 32 years service to GM from Allison Transmission in Indianapolis after transferring from Guide Corporation in Anderson.
He was a 1971 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and a Vincennes University graduate. Jon was a NRA Lifetime member; member of the Danville Conservation Club where he served as a range instructor, member of Fall Creek Bass Masters and the United Auto Workers Union. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting, elk hunting in Colorado, turkey hunting and fishing. A car enthusiast, Jon enjoyed attending car shows with his 1934 Chevy Hot Rod and enjoyed restoring Corvettes.
Survivors include his sister, Melissa Altherr (husband, George); nephew, Trent Altherr (wife, Jenny); great nieces, Carissa Stephens, Hailey Altherr, Bri Anderson, and Elizabeth Anderson; great nephews, Blaine Richwine, Cody Altherr, and Schyler Altherr; good friend, Warren Mockler; and beloved cats, Mork and MIndy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and niece, Carmen Richwine.
A celebration of Jon's life will be held at a later date with times and location to be announced.
