Jane Evelyn Raymer

Jane Evelyn Raymer, 86, of Pendleton, passed peacefully after an extended illness in Minnesota, August 26, 2023. Jane was born to the late Beard and Miriam (Cox) Shirley, August 9, 1937. She was a 1955 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. Jane later met and married the late, Jerry Raymer.

Jane became a pilot at a young age with the encouragement of her parents. She was also a real estate agent for many years along with being an insurance agent. She never stopped learning, as she became a massage therapist, hypnotist, and an organist. Through all these endeavors, Jane was an EMT for Pendleton Emergency Ambulance for 30 years. Jane cared for her community and showed that in her dedication and service to Pendleton. Jane was a member of Job’s Daughters, a Masonic affiliated program to foster leadership in young women.  Her greatest achievement by far was her children. Her legacy lives on in them.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jerry.

Jane is survived by her children, Shirley (Lee) Spall, Wade (Emily) Raymer, Ralph (Jennifer) Raymer, and Eve Raymer; and many grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday September 8, 2023, from 3:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E State St. Pendleton, IN. The burial will take place at a later date at Mendon Cemetery.
