James Doubman Jr., 89, of Kennard, Indiana, passed away February 9, 2026, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born on April 5, 1936, in Kennard to James Doubman and Flora (Deaver) Doubman.
James graduated from Kennard High School in 1954. He retired from Delco Remy, division of General Motors.
James served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Kennard Friends Church. James was a former member of the Kennard Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed coaching elementary basketball, farming, spending time with his family, woodworking and mowing his friends yards.
James is survived by his sons, James & Darla Doubman of Kennard, Brett & Kami Doubman of Kennard, and Troy & Stacey Doubman of Wilkinson; grandchildren, Blaise Doubman, Hannah & Rusty Asberry, Kylie & Zane Willis, Seaver & Taylor Doubman, Mary Ann & Clayton Kornman, Maddison Doubman, Sawyer Doubman, Damon & Brooke Doubman; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbra Doubman; and his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Kennard Friends Church, 101 N Vine St, Kennard, IN 47351, officiated by Pastor Steve Arnett. Burial will take place at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, where military honors will be performed by the Knightstown American Legion post #152.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kennard Friends Church.
