James D. Myers, 85, of Anderson, passed away July 6, 2014 at Countryside Manor Health & Living Community after an extended illness.
He was born May 5, 1929, in Moonsville, the son of the late George and Rhesa (Lutton) Myers and had lived in Anderson most of his life. He was Superintendent of Barber Manufacturing, retiring in 1991.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Esther Myers of Anderson; two sons, Gary (wife, Leslie) Myers of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Larry (wife, Pam) Myers of Middletown; daughter-in-law, Anita Myers of Anderson; five grandchildren, Randi (husband, Chad) Barton, Andrew (wife, Sarah) Myers, Elliott Myers, Marc Palestina and Robert Palestina; great granddaughter, Emma Marie Myers; brother, Robert Myers of Chesterfield and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, Kerry Myers and Terry Myers; twelve brothers and sisters, Nellie Baker, Earl Myers, Sherman Myers, Raymond Myers, Pauline Miller, Ruth Carper, George Myers, Lillian Caproon, Charles Myers, William Myers, Evelyn Usher and Ethell Aynes.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rev. Steve Gettinger officiating. Entombment will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 266 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
