Jacob Eugene Maxwell passed away on May 31, 2026, after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for five years. Born on December 17, 1952, in Anderson, Indiana.
In 1973, Jake enlisted in the Marines. After his time in the military, he spent the majority of his career as a skilled carpenter, a trade he loved and mastered. He had a zest for life that included a deep love for motorcycles, the thrill of riding, and the joy of being outdoors. He was also an avid fisherman and had a soft spot for horses.
He was the oldest of nine siblings. He is survived by his grandchildren, Brandon and Bailey, His brothers and sisters: Juanita Bynum, Bobby Stone, Jimmy Stone, Marty Stone, and Edward Hatter. As well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Maxwell and Thelma Hatter, son Shane Maxwell, and siblings John Stone, Penny Maxwell, and Donna Sanders.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes and Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel. He will be laid to rest at the Marion National Cemetery following cremation rites.
