Jackie "Jack" M. Smith, 81, of Anderson passed away on July 11, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born on January 17, 1945 in Anderson to the late Martin and Evelyn (Hines) Smith. Jack married the love of his life, Donna (Lagle) Smith, and the two spent 50 wonderful years together.
Jack selflessly served our country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after his time in the service. He worked as a brick mason for 40 years until his retirement.
He found his spiritual home at Connection Pointe Church and was a faithful member for many years. Not only did he help build the church, he also enjoyed his time as an usher and singing in the church choir. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 408 where he enjoyed playing shuffleboard and horseshoes.
Jack was a master carpenter and wood worker. He was one of those people who enjoyed working with their hands and was extremely talented at everything they did. He enjoyed his flower garden, fishing, mowing the yard, listening to his pastors preach the Word of God, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Donna; his children, Rev. Donnie (Kathy) Smith, Ashley (Allen Parkhurst) Davis, and Jacie (Joey Weir) Smith; his seven grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers; and three sisters.
A visitation for Jack will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Connection Pointe Christian Church, 2700 W 38th Street, Anderson, IN 46011.
